Laboratory of biofuel and Micro Energetic- Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management In Gańsk.
Gdańsk Science and Technology Park (GSTP) of the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone Ltd. implements an innovative project for the creation of Gdansk Park Laboratory Biofuels and Micro Energetics. The project is funded by the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection.
PROJECT: The laboratory will conduct research and development of green energy conversion technologies, education and dissemination of knowledge on this topic. Equipment and systems for the production of biofuels, electricity and heat while maintaining strict environmental rules will be installed. Some elements will be studied and prototypes will be developed. Polygeneric biomass power plant and various forms of biofuels. Anticipate power production: 200kWt and 40kWe. Biofuels and micro -energetics Laboratory is a unique platform connecting science, industry and education. The researchers, thanks to modern research equipment will be having tools to conduct advanced researches. In the laboratory 5 stations will be placed:
- Boiler Station - to study the combustion processes in ecological boilers
- Station of fuel production from biomass and waste,
- Station of the small cogeneration plants (CHP)
- Station of the steam turbogenerator,
- Station of the heat exchangers and thermodynamic cycles plant CHP.
Purposes of creating the Laboratory:
- reducing greenhouse gas emissions;
- increase the share of electricity from renewable sources in its overall consumption;
- increase the region's energy security by diversifying sources of energy;
- technological development of second generation biofuel production from its own sources;
- associate researches with the activities of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies;
- promotion of cogeneration in small-scale;
- distribution based on local and renewable energy resources;
- disseminate knowledge on environmental aspects of energy production and conversion of biomass;
- increasing the importance of the science sector in the economy through R & D in priority fields.
