Implementation of Phase III of Gdansk Science Technology Park Expansion (GSTP) is the latest stage of adaptation of the old production facility and changing it into modern, well managed Science Park. The objective is to  improve the potential of business and entrepreneurship. In order to increase the potential of the Park, it is planned to expand the operational and usable spaces even further. As the final output, Gdansk Science and Technology Park - will be a massive complex of offices - laboratories-production halls with a total usable area of 43.5 thousand. sq.m. Grand opening of A and B buildings is planned for mid 2011.

Expansion of the Park - by creating R&D infrastructures is a chance for investors for further development in the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone and maintaining a broad cooperation with domestic and foreign research institutions, which in turn - will ensure the continuation of these long-term investments.

In addition, an infrastructure for the Institute of Technology for Homeland Security will be created. The Institute's work includes the cooperation of the best Polish scientific institutions and pursuing research and development studies to the highest world-class level.

Some of the new GSTP’s surfaces will be adapted for a biomed labs. Companies such as Biobaltica an Polpharma will be residing on these premises. Baltic Center of Biotechnology and Innovative Diagnostics(BioBaltica) which is a consortium of three major universities in Pomerania: Medical University of Gdansk, Gdansk University of Technology and University of Gdansk, will be the center of intercollegiate research in the field of biotechnology and innovative diagnostics. The developed results will have a huge impact on the Polish bioeconomy. Polpharma is the largest manufacturer of drugs and  active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in Poland. Their products are exported to over 50 countries in the world.  Construction of the Baltic Eko-energy Cluster is also planned.
